Dr. Farhana Amin is a Professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health at M.H. Samorita Medical College and Hospital in Bangladesh, a position she has held since July 2019. She holds an M.Phil. in Preventive and Social Medicine from the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM) under BSMMU and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Dhaka, where she graduated third in her cohort. Dr. Amin also earned her MBBS from Rangpur Medical College. With over a decade of experience in medical education, she has taught and mentored students in community medicine and public health, focusing on comprehensive healthcare, primary healthcare, and epidemiological research. Her academic career is complemented by significant practical experience as a Public Health Specialist, having held roles such as Program Coordinator-Health at Plan International Bangladesh, where she was involved in health program design, implementation, and stakeholder capacity building. Dr. Amin has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, with research interests spanning adolescent suicidal behavior, contraceptive needs, domestic violence, and communicable diseases. Her extensive training includes certifications in areas such as Nipah virus management, water safety, and the management of severe acute malnutrition, underscoring her commitment to evidence-based public health practice.
