About Department Of Public Health

The Department of Public Health at City University received its formal accreditation from the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 21 April, 2015. Following a dedicated development phase, the department officially inaugurated its academic journey in 2026 to address the local and global escalating demands of qualified public health professionals through advanced education. Faculty within the department are distinguished by their high level of competence. This scholarly expertise is evidenced by a robust publication record, including significant research contributions in prominent national and international journals.

Regular scientific seminars and workshops are integral to our curriculum, designed to cultivate the latent potential of our students. Furthermore, our program is greatly enhanced by its connection to the renowned MH Samorita Hospital and Medical College, a sister concern of City University. For academic and practical support, the department maintains a close collaborative relationship with MH Samorita Hospital and Medical College, which serves as a primary site for practical training, research, and fieldwork. This partnership is integral to the academic curriculum and provides invaluable real-world experience. This arrangement ensures students receive comprehensive, hands-on education in public health practice within a clinical setting, solidifying their learning before they embark on their professional journeys.
